Challenge practice

posted Nov 18, 2014, 1:01 PM by Massimo Quadrana   [ updated Nov 19, 2014, 12:04 AM ]

Dear students, tomorrow practice will focus on writing a recommender system to make a submission to the AUI Technology competition.
Despite the title of the practice, concepts useful to everyone will be presented tomorrow, also for who is not willing to participate to the competition.
For sake of simplicity, the code will be written in Matlab. Although no compulsory, you are strongly encouraged to install and configure Matlab on your PC.
Remember that Politecnico di Milano offers free licences of Matlab to all students. More information here http://www.software.polimi.it/software-download/studenti/matlab/
Anyway, all the concepts that will be explained tomorrow are perfectly valid for any environment you wish to use to participate to the competition (e.g., Python, Java, Octave, Julia, C++, etc.).
The source code will be posted here before the start of the practice.
